COVID Safety Protocols
NOTE: As a certified athletic trainer I have received both shots of the Pfizer vaccine.
The well-being and safety of my clients, and the prevention of a possible transmission of the COVID virus, is my top concern. To these ends, the following protocols have been established:
1:1 training sessions may be conducted virtually via Zoom or FaceTime (for Mac users). Virtual sessions can be just as effective as in-person ones; however, I may ask you to acquire some equipment to have on hand for our sessions. (This equipment will cost under $100 and be readily available online. After a preliminary session to assess your fitness needs I will make recommendations and send you links for suggested items.)
In-person sessions are currently conducted in a newly renovated 200 sq. ft. basement fitness studio. (During the warmer months we have the option of working on my front porch or out in the yard.) I designed and built the studio with safety and cleanliness in mind. These cautionary measures include:
The studio is accessed by a separate entrance on the east side of the house.
Masks are worn at all times by both trainer and client.
Client sessions are scheduled to allow time for wiping down and disinfecting any equipment used during the previous session.
Air circulation maintained by the use of a fan and/or space heater. In the warmer months windows are open to promote cross-current air flow.
A state-of-the-art air purifier made by Swedish company Bluair (HealthProtect 7470) runs continuously before, during, and after sessions. This model kills 99.9% of bacteria and viruses, and filters the air in the studio approximately 6x/hour.
The studio space is thoroughly cleaned and vacuumed on a daily basis.
NOTE 2: As more of my clients become vaccinated we are negotiating, per CDC guidelines, whether we feel comfortable being in the space without masks. The choice is entirely the client’s.
