“Prime Your Body for Summer” series

Whatever your favorite summer activity is, make sure your body is ready to fully engage. To avoid injury, you want to break down and run through the individual motions of that activity under light resistance, in order to get the soft tissues primed and ready, and tune up your neuromuscular system to perform the movements correctly and without stress. Here are some examples:

Volleyball

Gorilla Crawl

Standup Paddle Boarding

Kayaking

Paddling, and other passions

Paddling my Stellar S18S surfski off East Beach, Charlestown, RI last summer. Winds 12-15 knots. Exhilarating!

Movement meditation. I use these TB12 resistance bands a lot, for all sorts of upper body exercises.
